Simone Koch

:

I grew up with my father's adventurous stories about Tanzania. After my studies, I lived in Tanzania for half a year to get to know the culture. I got to know the country’s various regions during my time there. Since 2009, I have been organizing individual trips to Tanzania as a member of the Kimasafaris team.

Bruno Koch with "Kima"

:

In 1978, I worked on a development project in southern Tanzania, and I have kept going back ever since. Together with my wife and my daughter, I founded Kimasafaris in 2009. Our goal was to promote a form of tourism that will benefit local residents and help preserve the country’s beautiful habitats. We only protect places we value!

Steven Mbwambo

:

Steven Sadick Mbwambo and his wife Zakia Brigitte Mbwambo manage Kimasafaris Ltd. in Tanzania. They live in Dar es Salaam, together with their three children.

Steven grew up in Tanga and completed his training as a safari guide at the Arusha Plates Monitors Centre, College for Tourism and Wildlife Management, in 2004. He then worked for Kill Treks Safaris for three years, operating in the northern parks (Manyara, Tarangire, Serengeti, Kilimanjaro). In 2007, he served as a Camp Manager at the Flycatcher Lodge at Mahale National Park.

Since 2010, he has worked with Kimasafaris in Dar es Salaam. He significantly contributed to the successful development of the company, and became owner of Kima Safaris Ltd. in 2012.

Zakia Brigitte Mbwambo

Zakia Brigitte Mbwambo grew up in Arusha, where she completed her customer service training at the Momesco Training Institute and at the University of Dar es Salaam in 2004. After graduating, she worked as Front Office Manager at the Momela Wildlife Lodge and later at the Lobo Wildlife Lodge in the Serengeti. When she moved to Dar es Salaam in 2008, she worked at the Golden Tulip and Protea hotels in Dar es Salaam. A mother of three, she now supports Steven in the Kimasafaris Ltd office.

:

We were looking for a project with which we can support Tanzania sustainably. Bruno and Simone convinced me that we achieve two goals with Kimasafaris: On the one hand, a family in Tanzania can build and secure their existence; on the other hand, the ecologically valuable national parks are preserved, as the protection of habitats is ensured. I support Bruno and Simone ideally and administratively.
